Abstract
We analyzed the effects of an unloaded rectangular waveguide in a two-frequency free-electron laser oscillator. We derived the coupled equations and developed a three-dimensional free-electron laser code for a three-dimensional free-electron laser (3D FEL) with transverse-electric (TE) and transverse-magnetic (TM) modes in a two-frequency free-electron laser oscillator system. The effects on the TE01, TE21 and TM21 modes of, the energy spread of the electron beam from, and the dependence of the waveguide height on the unloaded rectangular waveguide in a two-frequency free-electron laser oscillator were investigated. The electron-beam parameters for the waveguide with TE01, TE21 and TM21 modes were optimized by using a 3D FEL code.
