Abstract
Statistical characteristics of the eigenvalues and intensity patterns of the eigenfunctions of a spiral-shaped billiard are numerically investigated by using finite element method. Nearest level spacing statistics and spectral rigidities are studied for three different deformation parameter values and compared with the predictions of random matrix theory. Intensity patterns of the eigenfunction are also investigated in order to search strongly localized intensity patterns. Level spacing statistics and the patterns of the eigenfunctions are in good agreement with the expectation, however the spectral rigidity shows considerable deviations from the predictions of random matrix theory.
