Abstract
This study aims to determine elementary school teachers' understandings about the magnitude of the magnetic force according to the connection types of magnets. For this study, the test was made and implemented with 63 elementary school teachers. The results of the analysis are as follows: First, elementary school teachers' understandings about the magnitude of magnetic force according to the connection types of magnets was very low. Second, some elementary school teachers equated the magnitude of magnetic force according to the connection types of magnets with the magnitude of voltage according to the connection types of batteries. Third, elementary school teachers did not understand the reason iron objects were attached to a magnet at the micro level, but they understood phenomenologically the nature of magnets. Fourth, even though the problem situations given in the question asking the magnitude of magnetic force according to the connection types of magnets were somewhat different, the elementary school teachers had a consistent ways of thinking about the magnitude of magnetic force.
