Output Characteristics of the Second Harmonic Generation of the Actively Q-switched 1064 nm Nd:YVO$_4$ Laser using the LBO

Abstract
The laser diode pumped actively Q-switched 1064 nm Nd:YVO$_4$ laser by acousto-optic effects was contructed. When the pulse repetition rate was 8 kHz and the incident pump power was 19 W, the output power of the 1064 nm fundamental beam in the linear cavity and the folded cavity was 5.75 W and 4.60 W, respectively. The output poower slope efficiency for the pump power was 33.8% and 28.6%, respectively. Using the LBO(Lithium triborate, LiB$_3$O$_5$), the frequency-doubled 532 nm second harmonic generation(SHG) output powers from the linear extracavity and the L-shaped folded intracavity were measured at 2.25 W and 2.60 W, respectively, and the output power slope efficiency for pump power was measured at 14.4% and 15.4%, respectively. The shortest pulse width was 10 ns in the extracavity and 25.2 ns in the intracavity, with a pulse repetition rate of 8 kHz and a pump power of 17 W.
