Proposal of the Experiments Utilizing the Light Flux Screen for Optics Learning in the Elementary Science Education

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to propose for use in elementary science education an optical experiment method that was a screen that can observe the cross section of the light flux. In elementary science education, the properties of light need to be understand with only limited information, so an experimental basis that can connect the relationships between provided process of information is very important. The light flux screen, which was developed to observe the light-flux cross section, is a useful tool that provides information on light that is diffusely reflected on the screen or scattered from the back of the screen. Experiments using light flux screens that allow for abductive thought and operational observation can be used as effective teaching and learning strategies to form a scientific concept of light.
