Dielectric and piezoelectric properties of (Bi$_{0.5}$K$_{0.5+x}$)TiO$_3$(BKT) ceramics were studied with varying K non-stoichiometry in the range from K excess +1 mol% to K deficient ?8 mol% of K0.5. The relative densities of the BKT ceramics with various K contents prepared using a solid-state reaction method were all higher than 95 % after sintering. In all samples, a perovskite structure with tetragonal symmetry was confirmed although secondary phases appeared as the K deficiency became larger. The piezoelectric constant ($d_{33}$) increased, showing a peak value of 32 pC/N at ?5 mol%, and then decreased with further K deficiency. The depolarization temperature ($T_d$) was inversely related to d33 and exhibited its lowest value of 272 $^\circ$C at ?5 mol% among the samples with various x.

(Bi$_{0.5}$K$_{0.5+x}$)TiO$_3$의 유전 및 압전 특성에 대하여 조사하였다. 시편은 일반적인 고상 반응법으로 제조하였고, 제조한 시편의 상대밀도는 95 % 이상이었다. X-ray 회절 패턴 분석결과, 제조한 시편은 정방정 상의 페로브스카이트 구조를 가지며, K가 부족해짐에 따라 2차상이 발견되었다. 그리고 BKT에 K가 부족해짐에 따라 압전상수 ($d_{33}$)값은 $-$5 mol%까지 증가하여 32 pC/N을 가졌으며, 그 이후로는 감소하였다. 탈분극온도 ($T_d$)는 압전상수 ($d_{33}$)값과는 반대로 K가 부족해짐에 따라 감소하는 경향을 보여 $-$5 mol\%에서 가장 낮은 272 $^\circ$C을 보였다.
