Luminescence Properties and Their Temperature Dependence of Y$_{2-x}$Gd$_x$O$_3$:Eu$^{3+}$ Thin Films Investigated by Site-selective Laser-excitation spectroscopy

Luminescence properties of Y2-xGdxO3:Eu3+(x = 0 to 2.0) thin films are investigated by siteselective laser excitation spectroscopy at different temperature. The films were grown by pulsed laser deposition method on SiO2(100) substrates. Cubic phase Y2O3, cubic and monoclinic phase Y2?xGdxO3:Eu$^{3+}$(x = 0.3 to 2.0) are identified in the excitation spectrum of the $^{7}$F0 → $^{5}$D0 transition of Eu$^{3+}$. The emission spectra of the $^{5}$D0 → $^{7}$FJ (J = 1, 2) transition from individual Eu$^{3+}$ centers were obtained by tuning the laser to resonance with each excitation line. The blue shift of cubic phase C2 and monoclinic phase CS(B) and CS(C) excitation peak was associated with increasing temperature. But the peak shift of monoclinic phase CS(A) has not been observed.

Y2-xGdxO3:Eu3+를 SiO2 (100)기판에 PLD (Pulsed laser deposition) 방법으로 증착한 박막을 선택적 여기 분광학으로 온도에 따른 형광 특성을 조사하였다. 실험 온도는 11 K에서 실온까지 조사하였다. 7F0 → 5D0전이 여기 스펙트럼으로부터 Y2O3경우는 입방상 (cubic)만 Y2-xGdxO3:Eu3+(x = 0.3~2.0)은 입방상과 단사상 (monoclinic)을 확인하였으며 온도 증가에 따라 7F0 → 5D0여기 스펙트럼 피크의 청색 이동을 확인하였다. 각각 여기 피크를 선택적으로 여기하여5D0 → 7FJ (J = 1, 2) 방출 스펙트럼을 얻었는데 측정 온도가 저온에서 실온으로 증가할 수록 입방상 피크 C2와 단사상 피크 CS(B) 와 CS(C) 는 청색 이동이 크게 나타났으나 단사상의 CS(A) 피크는 청색 이동이 거의 보이지 않았다.
