In this study, we have developed the STEAM education program for diffraction and interference experiments using an optical activity filter. The filter was made using an optically-active material and a polarizer in order to solve the problem of interference and diffraction experiments as presented in the Physics II textbook. From applications to both teachers and students, we came to the conclusion that the developed STEAM program is suitable for understanding both optical activity and the correlation between wavelengths and interference fringes.

본 연구에서는 물리 II 교과서에 제시된 회절·간섭 실험의 문제점을 해결하기 위해 광활성 물질과 편광판을 이용하여 광활성 필터를 제작하고, 제작된 필터를 이용해 회절·간섭 실험을 하는 STEAM 교육 프로그램을 개발하였다. 개발된 프로그램을 물리교사와 고등학생에게 적용한 결과 물리교사와 학생 모두 개발된 프로그램에 대해 긍정적인 반응을 보였다. 특히, 광활성 필터를 이용하면 광원의 파장을 쉽게 변화시킬 수 있다는 점을 높게 평가 하였다.
